FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was a consumer electronics service professional for many years before deciding to enter the computer field. My passion for computers began when my son entered college in 1994, and was required to purchase a home computer to perform much of his studies. I was so impressed with his computer, that I soon bought my own, and learned whatever I could about them in order to keep my own system up and running. I enrolled in a PC servicing course with NRI Schools in 1998, and obtained my A+ certification in early 2000.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My most common service jobs at this time involve virus removal. Second most common seems to be hard drive replacement.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do not always settle for the lowest bidder when seeking a computer professional. As with many other professions, you get what you pay for.
