Introduction: because i ease all the sharp edges by hand with a sanding block. I also custom make each piece. For my style of teaching, I instruct students from Kindergarten-senior citizens exactly the same. I get students engaged in hands-on woodworking right away. No boring lectures. It is fun and requires the use of creative thinking.

Mr. Skapars is a top notch professional in woodworking and in training and group cooperation. He came to my shop this spring and together we built two large adirondack chairs and a round table (they came out beautifully). His attention to the finest details of craftsmanship and his patience with the process were immediately apparent. When he drove home with our work product, I realized I had learned a lot from him. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Custom furniture is simple. I take the cost of materials and multiply that number by 3. That is my pricing. Right now, I charge $150/15 hr class for Adirondack chair building. Hourly rates for private instruction is between $25-$60 per person.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly taking woodworking workshops all around the country.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was 7 years old I watched my dad build something amazing out of oak. It was then that I knew I wanted to make furniture.
