- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was in a bad car accident when I was in middle school. My back hurt miserably and I had horrible headaches. The doctor said it was muscle tension so she prescribed me to a PTS and gave me high dosage pain pills. Well the pain pills only worked for about a week and they would put me to sleep. The physical therapist made me do stretches and exercises that was way to painful for me to be able to handle. So the PT would massage my low back just enough to wear I could move. That was the only thing that helped me. I still had the migraines constantly. When I started massage school in college we would have to work on each other and that is what helped my back. One day I got a migraine in class and my teacher noticed so she gave me some of a oil blend. That helped tremendously but I still got them every week expecially when stressed. I was in another car accident in march before i graduated. After I got my MT liscense I started working at Echo Chiropractic Center and I talked to my boss about how I thought I might be missaligned from the car accidents. Sure enough he worked on me and confirmed my suspicions. To this day I get muscle work done regularly, use the oils, and get adjusted when I feel off. It works. The reason I am in this field is because I know how horrible that pain is and I don't want anyone else to have to go through that. If you feel like maybe this is what you need I encourage you to not just settle for pills and say it will always be that way because it can be fixed.
