FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Either before you come in or upon arrival we will discuss your main concern/goal for the session. We review your general health, prior injuries or surgeries and allergies. I strive to tailor each massage to the individual, if you're coming in with sciatica for example, we're going to do targeted mobilization and stretching of that area, which I wouldn't be doing in a relaxation session. I'm big on essential oils too, so discussing your needs ahead of time helps me to choose the best oils to include [or exclude] from your session.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Besides my massage training and 12+ hours of continuing education per year, I'm a big gym person. I love lifting weights so I'm very in tune with clients workout related aches and pains. Fortunately massage is ALL about muscles, so this helps me with all massages, not just workout specific. Truly knowing how everything works is what makes the difference between a good and great massage! Beyond that I'm always trying to learn more. Be it new techniques, new uses for essential oils... new things are discovered every day, I try to stay on top of what's going on in my field.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Originally I went to school to be a dietician. It was well before I knew I wanted something more "outside the box". I always wanted to help people... massage allows me to do that with a schedule that allows me to be a mom first! ☺️
