Unfortunately, Alice's event was an outdoor event. We took the event and explained to her numerous times that if the weather was bad the day of the event, due to the event being outdoors, she would forfeit all monies paid. We were in contact with her throughout the week leading up to her wedding discussing the weather forecast. On several occasions we gave her the option to cancel her event per our contract and she would have been refunded her money. However, she choose to proceed knowing full well she would not be refunded if the weather was bad the day of the event. Per the contract she signed she agreed to provide us with an adequate power source which is spelled out in our contract. When we arrived at the site we found an extension chord being run from across the street of a neighbor's house. We also found the grounds were muddy and completely soaking wet (The location was a little league baseball field). We at Big Easy Memories regret that due to the weather and not being provided an adequate power source we were unable to provide services for her event. We are committed to customer satisfaction and pride ourselves on outstanding customer service. We made every effort to provide services even going so far as to go out to the site even though we were not required to do so. When I spoke to Alice at the event she was understanding of the situation and stated she understood as we had spoke previously about not being refunded any money paid for our services. We deeply regret we were unable to provide services for her event and as a result we no longer do outdoor events due to circumstances and situations beyond our control such as this.
