Introduction: I am a professional working musician. I was looking to take a few bass lessons as character research for a role, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I truly enjoyed working with Shimon and learning the bass guitar. I have a hectic schedule and Shimon was very flexible and accommodating. Thanks for all you help and support! I couldn't have been more satisfied with my experience.

Shimon is a great teacher. I am an adult student with no guitar experience. Shimon has excellent patience and if you don't understand a concept one way he will show you another way. I feel that Shimon could teach anyone guitar at any level of experience or age. He has been very flexible on lesson times and dates. For Shimon's level of expertise and experience his price can only be stated as a bargain. So if you are considering lessons and you are looking for a Teacher that has it all: patience, superb knowledge and flexibility look no further Shimon is your teacher. I highly recommend him. My son has been receiving guitar lessons from Shimon for a couple of months now. From being a beginner then, my son is now very comfortable with the instrument and even practices notes independently in addition to the instructions. All this has been possible due to Shimon's commitment, perseverance and patience in passing on the knowledge. The one on one instructions, minus the commercial aspect the some of the established centers are, is working great for us. Would highly recommend Shimon to others looking to learn playing a guitar.

Ive had the pleasure of studying guitar under Shimon in his in-home Acton studio for a couple of years. He is an accomplished musician - knowledgable about music theory, composition and playing guitar and bass; and he is an authentic and kind person in his teaching style and his interactions. His Acton studio is an inviting, comfortable atmosphere in which to learn. Shimon encourages students to practice, to be themselves and to have fun playing music. He is a great musical mentor and has excellent rapport with students of all ages. I very much enjoy his lessons, value his guidance, and have improved my guitar playing skills under his tutelage. I highly recommend Shimon as an instructor for guitar and bass for students of all ages, abilities and musical styles.

I believes that playing music should be fun, not overwhelming or frustrating. He strives to create a relaxed and supportive group atmosphere while encouraging his students to gradually grow comfortable with increasingly challenging material. I am dedicated to provide competent, caring instruction.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a professional musician, a Berklee College of Music graduate, with 25+ years experience teaching students of all ages, in conservatories, public schools and private settings. 30+ years experience performing in various live bands across many genres.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
The love of music and the love of teaching comes natural to me. There is a saying "If you love music, think and dream about it, then this is what you got to do".
