Everyone knows Elan is a spectacular musician, but he's also a *spectacular* teacher! I would have dropped piano after a week if it weren't for him. Thanks to Elan, I've been playing for nearly three years and am totally in love with the piano. Elan makes learning piano fun and rewarding. He breaks difficult musical concepts down into manageable chunks. When I'm having trouble playing something, he quickly diagnoses the problem, and gets to the heart of the matter (perfect for getting you "unstuck"). And he explains music theory clearly and intuitively, without the unnecessary jargon. Elan also incorporates composition into his teaching in creative ways, which makes everything more musical and less mechanical. Apart from being an amazing teacher, Elan is also a wonderful, kind, and caring person. In short, a gem - you couldn't ask for a better teacher.

I highly recommend Elan as a piano teacher. My two sons (ages 10 and 12) and I take piano lessons from Elan. We all think he is an amazing pianist and piano teacher. I started playing the piano as an adult and have taken lessons from many teachers for more years than I would like to admit. Elan is by far the best teacher I have ever had. On our first lesson he was able to pinpoint exactly what I needed to work on. Other teachers helped me play songs on the piano, Elan teaches me how to play the piano - it's a huge difference. Every lesson is enjoyable and inspiring. Elan is also excellent with my two sons. He is very thoughtful about how he approaches each lesson and is able to break things down in a way that they understand and are excited about. I have only good things to say about Elan!

My teenage daughter loves taking piano lessons from Elan. Elan is patient, funny, and earnest, and he loves to teach all styles of music, including jazz, classical, and pop. He is the rare musician who can play and teach incredibly well. I can’t recommend him highly enough - Elan is awesome!

Elan Melher is more than an outstanding pianist who gives lessons on the side of his performing career. He is an excellent and passionate pedagogue, as dedicated to his teaching as he is to his own music. I have been taking online lessons with him for a couple of years and my level has greatly improved, thanks to his tailored method and very delicate approach to learning and playing music. And yes, the distance makes no difference. I highly recommend him!

My son is taking Jazz piano lessons with Elan. He is one of the best teacher that we have ever met. He makes the learning fun, teaches kids to be creative and encourages kids to pick up music as passion. With Elan's help, my son is learning how to compose his own music, come up with his own songs and cover songs with confidence. During Covid, we have been taking lessons through Zoom, which worked perfectly. Highly recommend Elan as one of the best Jazz pianists/teachers!
