Introduction: I teach personal development through radical resilience. My unique behavior pattern assessment, along with the integration of NLP/mindfulness/self awareness training cuts straight to what and how you can change. Whether sitting still in meditation or dancing in Time's Square anyone, anywhere can learn and enjoy the art of non-suffering! While coaching, facilitating or officiating, I experience a sense of flow and purpose. My clients and students often say this is one of the states they really feel during our work and can tap into after workshops and between sessions.

Zeffa imparts compassion and wisdom in equal measure while leading mediations and exercises to increase self-awareness and what I might describe as awareness beyond the self. She helped me untangle my emotional, intellectual and sensory reactions to a variety of events and situations, in a nonjudgmental and supportive atmosphere. I left each of her classes with a sense that I'd been unburdened from something, even if I didn't understand immediately what had been lifted. It was as if she was gently separating my reactions from some higher part of myself, so that I could see myself with more clarity and compassion, and at that point choose how to respond to a given situation (rather than just react). Not that I graduated from her class as a perfect, non-reactive human, but I gained some tools and perspective. Her classes were also fun and relaxing, and helped me get through a tough stretch in my life. Zeffa is an honest soul, with impeccable integrity, a keen intellect, a warm heart, and a huge amount of knowledge. I highly recommend her!

The first time that I met Zeffa, she engaged me in a conversation about a topic that I was passionate about. Despite being somewhat introverted and cautious around people I am newly meeting, Zeffa's calm affect, sense of humor, and insight made me immediately comfortable talking to her at a level that was both authentic and vulnerable. Over time, we developed a relationship that consisted of conversations that balanced depth with humor, wisdom with anecdotes, and began working together on projects that support the various needs of college-aged students in a professional setting. Most prominent was an initiative Zeffa led called Mindful Recovery, which was a space for people to process compulsive behavior, utilizing mindful practices. This space was one in which students (and occasional administrators!) would come together and share in a safe and supportive environment. Both in and outside of this space, personally and professionally, Zeffa has brought a tremendous amount of insight, perspective, and levity to my life and I perpetually appreciate her centered-ness. If you have the opportunity to take classes with Zeffa, participate in her workshops, or just get a cup of tea with her, I highly recommend it.

Zeffa Kinney contributed to a radio show I produce for Senior Citizens in Boston as a guest. As a host for this show, I thought it was one of the most successful and popular among listeners (I received a lot of positive feedback). Discussing mindfulness is relevant for any person no matter what age, but she was an expert at targeting her manifesto directly to our audience (older adults). I have no doubt she can tailor workshops to any individual or community need. Zeffa is masterful at recognizing how working towards shifting perspective can dramatically improve our relationships and collaborations with others. We can be enlightened when we're alone, she says, but can be completely mindless when in company with others. Her focus is less on shimmering theories, but more so on empowering people with tools they can begin putting into practice immediately. Rather than relying only on contemplative practices like meditation, she emphasizes that the simple act of practicing 'noticing new things,' strengthens control over where we put our attention in every moment throughout our day. Through active observation, preconceived judgments have the potential to dissipate — opening up dramatic potential to see the world more vibrantly. For individuals, non-profits, and corporations alike, removing our blinders of stubbornness is one of the most important tools for innovation. Zeffa introduces these concepts with a Stephen Colbert-like humor, removing the seriousness generally clouding contemplative practices, making this spiritual technology accessible to the skeptics among us. She brings mindfulness out of 'the monastery' and into the secular world without disregarding its sacred history. Anyone who has the tremendous privilege to work with Zeffa can expect an active listener with a uncanny ability to propel you into a new awareness of your creative potential.

Zeffa has been my sponsor/coach. Her role is similar to a life coach. She is very present and down to earth in her approach. She is non-judgmental and has unconditional positive regard for me. Zeffa is trustworthy and maintains confidentiality. She is respectful of different points of view. I feel comfortable and accepted for who in working with Zeffa. She takes a practical collaborative approach to problem solving partering with the person rather than trying to fix it for them. Zeffa makes herself available on an as needed basis and yes she is on time and present for our sessions together.

Zeffa is an inspiration to me. She has found a way to take some negative lessons and experiences in her life and use them to help herself and others. She is well versed and knowledgeable, learning right along with you as she teaches!
