Introduction: My work stands out in that I have had a lifetime commitment to my martial arts training and a professional career in education, which have brought a well thought-out perspective and approach. In my younger years, I also had much street experience, and so can testify to the effectiveness of the techniques in real life situations. Our training approach is brought with humor and compassion, as well as with physical/mental discipline, and our goals are healthy, positive, evolved human beings, not thugs or competitive fighters.
What I like most about my work as a jujitsu instructor is assisting people to be more fully self-expressed. As a peace-loving career arts educator, I know all too well that one must be a warrior in body and spirit to survive and thrive in modern society. There are many obstacles, both inside and outside, that one must face to pursue one's calling. I feel great satisfaction seeing students getting real traction in their lives with the discipline and deep wisdom of this training.
