Before I tell you why I'm giving Tom a 5 star review it might mean more if I share some of my background. I'm a retired Marine and spent 20 years in the construction utilities field, for 5 years following that I was the Structural Superintendent for a major University, and now I am a Facilities Manager. I have spent several years hiring and firing contractors in all trades to include painting and plastering. I would consider Tom to easily be in the top 5 of all contractors I have hired in the past. I base this not only on his talent but his work ethic and attention to detail. I contacted Tom after I let another contractor go when he struggled to complete my ceiling after 3 days and it still looked terrible. Tom came in on Thursday and explained to my wife and I what he could do. We set up the ceiling work for the next day and said we would see how it goes before we decide on the walls. Tom came in, covered the work area, and got busy. Before he even finished the ceiling I hired him for the walls. It was obvious he knew what he was doing. He finished the ceiling in 1 day then came back on Saturday, worked through lunch and completed the walls in 1 day. I will be hiring Tom again for future work and if you are in need of a plasterer you better snatch him up before people catch on and he gets tied up for 2 months like the rest of the best. Tom did an excellent job to minimize the mess by covering the floors and door but this is plastering so it doesn't matter how good you are it will get on things you don't want it on so don't hold that against him. His prices are fair so check him out. Thanks Tom, see you soon!

Plaster guy patched a spot in our bathroom ceiling that had worn away thanks to a leaky roof. It was not a huge job, but he treated it as important, maintaining consistent communication and showing up right on time. He did a great job for a fair price!

Would definitely recommend. Quality of work was excellent, was able to match my textured ceiling perfectly. His response time was quick, price was very fair. Left the work area very clean.
After getting a quote and reading his other reviews, we hired Tom for two new ceilings in our basement remodel: light carpentry, blue board, and veneer plaster. He finished on time and the work looks great. He even threw in some wall patching. He understood our needs and was professional and easy to work with. Will hire again next time we need plastering.

Tom was responsive right away and came on time. I couldn't be happier with his quality of work to patch several large holes on my walls. He was complete professional and will hire him again in the future.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
There’s a contractor job feed on this site which I look at every morning. If I’m reaching out to someone it’s because I saw their job on there and I’d be happy to do it. If that person responds I can either come take a look and give a free estimate or sometimes I can get the information I need from a description and some photos.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Plastering is more about feel and a sense of timing so it’s kinda hard to learn from a book or YouTube video. It’s more about working with the stuff day after day, year after year till it becomes second nature.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Started immediately after high school and have been doing it ever since.
