Introduction: As a two time honoree of the International Society of Caricature Artists (formerly the National Caricaturist Network), I have twice been recognized by my peers for my caricature. I also have illustrated and written books in recent years, and this adds some cachet to interacting with guests at your event. My art leans to a more realistic style, distinct from theme park style. I aspire to a "New Yorker Talk of the Town" look in my party work. I enjoy interacting with a broad slice of society, from a children's birthday party to entertaining rock stars on their day off. The vast variety of faces out there means I am constantly challenged and entertained myself in committing their likenesses to paper.

We asked John to do "couples caricatures," in color, of each of 5 couples at our dinner party last weekend, and it was a big hit with everyone. John was terrific -- punctual, friendly, engaging, and incredibly good. The drawings are spot-on (although I do think he made me look better than what I see in the mirror every morning). And I couldn't believe how quickly he was able to do each sketch. He also did a solo of our son, so it was actually a total of 11 caricatures in what was probably no more than an hour and a half. Everyone loved it, and the sketches made for wonderful and unique party-favor keepsakes. Thank you again, John. I would definitely recommend him.

Working with John was wonderful. He kept in touch with me weeks prior to the wedding we hired him for and provided excellent service while at the wedding. My guests loved their pictures. Definitely a great idea for anyone looking for personalized memorabilia from an event!

I hired John to do caricatures for a street festival that my business was attending last Saturday. It was so last minute but he accommodated our requests and we were so happy to have him. He was on time and worked very hard for us all day. Everyone was so pleased with his work! We will definitely use John again!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Generally the first hour is $150, and additional hours are $100, charged in quarter hour increments. In the case of a substantial drive, the first hour may be a bit ore to compensate for travel time. We can preprint the paper I draw on to personalize it (i.e. "Henry's 40th Birthday, June 12, 20XX") for a $40 fee.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attend conferences of the International Society of Caricature Artists, and have attended the Salon at St. Juste le Martel in France.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I found out that one could make a living drawing, I was sold. Caricatures were my strong suit by junior high age.
