Close Enough Photography

Hi! I'm Katya, a portrait photographer who takes the job of framing your future memories very seriously. I've been calling myself a photographer for 11 years, worked with people for the last 8 of them, and took on building a photography business half a year ago. I have extensive experience and am now in the sweet spot that allows me to deliver dozens of pictures you will cherish for many years while prioritizing your comfort and ease during the shoot and offering a sliding scale with a low starting point. The name Close Enough comes from a famous quote by Robert Capa, "If your pictures aren't good enough, you aren't close enough". While I strive to offer a wide variety of pictures after every shoot and challenge the limitations of my photographic style, I will always take some time to get close enough — both decreasing the physical distance between my camera lens and my subject and finding an emotional connection that will help me create meaningful shots. I love candids, underexposed portraits, emotional close-ups on hands, eyes, lips — and I will always listen to your ideas and implement them as much as I can. By education and during the day, I am a childcare professional with training in child psychology and working with children with autism. I have a deep understanding of how to make a family session with a baby or a young child work best, happy to talk in depth about possible accomodations, and I absolutely will sing nursery rhymes as much as needed :) I would be honored to capture this moment in your life: your senior dog, your newborn, your graduation, family reunion, concert, first home, engagement — just reach out!
