FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes. My pricing is structured to represent a minimal commitment from my client families until they've actually seen the photography. Typically, that means there's a shoot fee that includes the shoot, a thorough info and planning walk-through, post-production on the photography, and then a proof gallery. From there, families order print and digital products. There are other arrangements that can be made, but I've found that this is the one that works best for families.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It's important for me to get to know about a new client's family, because that first and foremost will ensure that things will go well. It's all about customizing the shoot to the different personalities involved. So each Full Session shoot begins with an information and preparation walk-through, over the phone or, if time allows, in-person. In that walk-through, we also talk about location, clothes, color ideas, any particularly creative posing ideas, any special requests, etc.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Among the biggest education is my life as a very active uncle to my nephews and niece! I adore them to death and spend as much time with them as possible. Additionally, I have what might be considered an unofficial art minor from Yale, where I majored in Political Science. And I'm constantly doing continuing education through workshops, seminars, etc. I have a concurrent career as a commercial photographer (ads, magazines).
