FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For tutoring, I ask a base rate of $50/hour, with additional charges depending on the amount of travel required for our meetings.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We'll discuss your specific needs and the materials you're using and then set up a preliminary session before determining how much or what kind of tutoring makes the most sense for you. Some people do well with longer but less frequent meetings, while others may prefer more frequent but shorter sessions throughout the week. Finding the right balance is key!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I got my BA in Mathematics from a small liberal arts college in Kentucky, and then came to Boston University as a Ph.D. candidate in Statistics. I've completed my Master's degree and am now working solely on dissertation research. Throughout graduate school, I've gained extensive teaching and tutoring experience. I believe I have the skills many others in the quantitative fields don't -- the ability to communicate effectively. I can adapt appropriately and ensure that you're getting what you need.
