Hartt Vocal Studio
About this pro
Met with Ruth Hartt yesterday to assess 6year old for lessons. Ms Hartt was both professional and nurturing. She did not oversell lessons, rather took the time to talk and she will let me know if this seems appropriate. The main issue is 6 years old's ability to focus. I appreciate her honest approach.Oct 6, 2016Verified
Best voice teacher I've ever had...even better then conservatory teachers in college! Great at explaining technique personalized for your voice, but also helps you find passion and depth. Compassionate and supportive and extremely motivating. Wonderful! Highly recommended!Sep 17, 2015
If you are looking for the best vocal studio in the area, you've found it. A spectacular soprano in her own right, Ruth is a gifted teacher - a wondrous combination of creativity, rigor and charm. I have studied with her for two years, and what a difference she made for me. Ruth will definitely bring you to the next level! She has trained some budding stars, to be sure, but actually has students of all ages (6 to 63), experience, and ability. Ruth is inspiring and really fun to have as a teacher!Sep 14, 2015
Ruth wants her students to succeed. She believed there was a voice in me long before I developed a modicum of confidence. She's resourceful (including being a very adaptable piano player), knowledgeable (in a musically intuitive way), and always a bright spirit encouraging one to reach for more.Sep 14, 2015
Ruth has been my daughter's voice teacher for two years. She's a great teacher and wonderful person! My daughter loves her weekly lessons and enjoys the studio recitals. I would highly recommend Ruth for beginners or more advanced singers.Sep 14, 2015

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Prospective students are asked to fill out the studio questionnaire. Next, Ruth will schedule an introductory lesson via email. This introductory session gives the student the opportunity to determine whether Hartt Vocal Studio is a good fit for them; it allows Ruth to get to know the student’s ability and interest level, and determine whether the student is a good fit for the studio. The fee for the introductory lesson $60 for 45 minutes; $75 for 60 minutes) must be prepaid via Paypal to reserve your lesson time. You will receive a Paypal invoice via email; payment is due upon receipt. The introductory lesson fee is nonrefundable. During this 45-minute session we will discuss your experience, goals, and interests. Ruth will conduct an evaluation of your current vocal technique through a series of vocal exercises and warmups. You will also be asked to sing a familiar song that shows your current vocal ability and preferred genre/style. Ruth will then suggest a series of goals and strategies to get you on the right track. There is no obligation to sign up for more lessons. If the studio feels like a good fit and you want to continue lessons, you can request to register for a semester package or become a “standby” student, booking lessons as needed.
