FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Piano lessons are $30.00/half hour, and are private, one-on-one lessons. Tutoring prices depend upon the student's need - please contact me so we can talk!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always meet students and parents first - either by phone, or video conference, or in-person. I encourage questions and want to ensure that all students and parents/guardians are comfortable. After our initial meeting, we plan for our first official lesson - whether a piano lesson or tutoring session - and we're off to the races!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an M.Ed. in Educational Philosophy and B.A. in Latin and Philosophy. Throughout my academic career, I studied the piano privately. As a current teacher, professional development is a daily practice. For piano, it is imperative to know of current teaching practices and tools and so I regularly consult and associate with other music teachers. Also, as the SAT, SSAT, and ACT evolve, it is necessary to know the current expectations of these tests, as well as the schools to which a student plans to apply. I have taught test preparation throughout Central Massachusetts, and have also worked with students in all grades who need academic support or assistance with college planning.
