Wedding Coordination

Mikaela was the best decision we made for our wedding. She helped us through all the steps, finding center pieces, showing us stuff we could’ve easily missed like making sure to have a gift table and so on. We’re so happy we got to meet her. She made sure our wedding was everything we envisioned and more. We arrived to our wedding with everything ready to go and just let us enjoy the party. She took our stress and worries away, and that definitely is priceless.

Mikaela was easy to work with right from the beginning and made me feel at ease every step of the way during the planning of my intimate wedding earlier this year. She listened to all our ideas and vision for what we wanted, always communicated with us on her ideas for things we hadn’t even thought of and she was always supportive when I felt stressed - especially when it came to narrowing down vendors and finding the best venue. I’ll keep this brief because honestly I know that as soon as you talk to her, you’ll know she’s the best!

Event Planning

I rarely ever give reviews, but this one was one of those disappointing situations where I needed to let folks know. We spoke with Mikaela over 2 weeks ago for my daughter's birthday party. She was very sweet during this call and basically told me she will treat this party as her own daughter's party and do a great job and she guarantees good value and great decorations. We picked her over 2 other party planners we were speaking with. She was only available on a particular day for the event, and we accommodated that date for her and found a venue that was open for that date (we had better venues we looked past because they weren't available the day she was available). We paid the venue as well (non refundable). Over the past 2 weeks, we paid her a deposit, we were communicating via text regarding venue, decoration samples I had in mind, food, games etc. I scheduled a call with her for today to go over the details regarding invites. I get a text 2 minutes before the scheduled call just saying "I was just about to text you! I now have a conflict that date I am so sorry and can refund your deposit. So sorry about that" There was no reasoning, no explanation or anything. So unprofessional! She didn't even have the curtesy to call! The planners I had talked to before are also now booked up. When I texted her this, she finally texted me back an explanation that she has to be out of town for a wedding. I am now having to plan the event myself, for a date that wasn't even my first choice. I would have at least been okay with this if she had the decency to call and explain, and suggest some alternatives (like catering/decoration options etc). She just sends me a text right before we had a call planned, not to mention I came home early from work to make sure I can have the call with her. I don't understand how an event planner can be so unprofessional! Very disappointed! She obviously had the time to call me me before we gave the deposit and buttered me up, and then she totally turned 180 once she got the deposit. She even said once we gave the deposit, we could only move the event to a different date in the future, we cannot get deposit back. But now, she just cancels with no notice, no help, zero professionalism, and just sends the deposit back. Highly discourage anyone from working with her.
