Introduction: The idea for Wildflower Pet Care came when we found ourselves becoming a liaison between a family, their dog, and their veterinary care. Everyone loves their animals, but sometimes there are limits to what owners can provide. This is where Wildflower pet Care comes in. When you can’t take your pet to the vet, have difficulty understanding a prescription label, are unable to provide a high energy dog with activity or be home to make sure kitty isn’t causing mischief, we’re here to help.
Wildflower consists of Lisa and Jade. We first met 2 years ago while we both were working at the same dog daycare. Previous to working at the daycare, Lisa volunteered two years at an animal shelter and Jade with Last Hope K9 Rescue. Together we have fostered cats, kittens, dogs and puppies of all shapes, sizes, breeds, and medical needs. We have also had a fair share of animals that have crossed the rainbow bridge including Bojangles, Ralph, Bunker, Jezebel, Bruce, Spike, and most recently, Coco Beans.
We currently provide a permanent home for Sam the Cat (who Jade rescued from being stuck in a tree mid winter), Maggie, 9, a lazy English Bulldog and Lexi, 4, a fiesty little mutt who Lisa knew from her very first day of daycare. Both Maggie and Lexi were entrusted to us by families that could no longer meet their needs due to lifestyle changes.
Along with her work in daycare, Lisa has been a cornerstone in a local canine behavior workshop; concentrating on proper socialization and handling of dogs on and off leash as well as recognizing and reading their body language. Jade has experience working in an emergency veterinary hospital (serving dogs, cats and exotics) as well as basic farm and wildlife education. We have both have attended various workshops and seminars on animal behavior and care.
