In 2012 I was arrested for an OUI, my Third Offense and the case went to the West Roxbury District Court. I knew I would lose my license for up to 7 years and be facing substantial fines but the real possibility of jail time terrified me. An attorney friend recommended Adam Russell as someone who was bright, knew the court system and specialized in difficult cases like mine. I was not disappointed. Adam met me soon after I called to review my case and my chances of avoiding jail. He did not sugar coat the situation and clearly explained what I was up against. Because my first arrest was 20 years prior the court called this last incident a First Offence and I avoided jail. He also managed keep me from the mandatory 14-day state run in-patient program for Second Offenders. The entire process and outcome went remarkably well. Unfortunately because of an illness and hospitalization months later I missed a probation hearing and a Bench Warrant was issued for my arrest. Adam went to court and successfully had the warrant removed. After two years on probation I relapsed with alcohol and missed another probation meeting. To appeal to the court I voluntarily entered a substance abuse rehab facility for a three-week period. This was a good decision as I again avoided serving time and subsequently my probation was terminated. I have currently hired Adam again, this time to appeal to get my license reinstated. Unlike the court, the RMV still considers this a Third Offence. It has been a pleasure working with Adam throughout this lengthy ordeal, he has repeatedly gone the extra mile to represent me and I highly recommend him for his skill, candor and persistence.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
My best friend's dad lost a promising political career because of an OUI case. Literally, over night- this person known for being honest and popular was treated like a bad guy. I'll never forget that.
