FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
FOR MUSIC LESSONS: $55 for 30 minutes $65 for 45 minutes $75 for 60 minutes I charge monthly based on the amount of lessons you want to take in one month (average 4). I offer discounts if you are able to pay for 4 lessons up front. I charge a $5 travel free for distances under 5 miles, $10 for 5-10 miles, etc. I receive many requests for lessons, gigs, and songwriting services - if I reserve time to plan and teach your lesson, that is time I am not able to give to somebody else. Payment for lessons is due one week before the lesson is scheduled. Payments are non-refundable. Make-up lessons are offered if cancellation occurs more than 24 hours in advance. I accept Venmo, cash, or check. FOR MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT SERVICES: I charge $150/hr for the time I spend playing at your event, and a flat rate travel fee (minimum $50) determined at booking based on travel distance and estimated set-up/break-down time. If the event is in East Boston, i charge no travel fee, just hourly for set-up and break-down. I do not charge for the time I spend rehearsing for your event. Optionally, you can choose to attend a final dress rehearsal for an additional charge. Consultation is free and I can provide my own sound equipment if necessary. 50% deposit (on total quoted price) is due upon booking. 50% of this deposit (25% of total quoted price) is refundable if event is cancelled within one week of scheduled date. I retain half of this deposit to cover for the time I spend learning and rehearsing for the event, and to block my calendar for any other events that could have been scheduled for the agreed-upon date. - What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
MUSIC LESSONS: My main goal, especially with my younger students, is to make music fun and engaging. I individualize my lessons with student goals and musical interests in mind. As we explore the joy of creating sounds, I introduce music theory and lessons in technical mastery. I encourage all of my students to create their own music and musical identities.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied classical piano for 15 years, acoustic guitar for 6 years, ukulele for 4 years, singing for 5 years, songwriting for 3 years. I am currently a Berklee Student, graduating in May 2020. I am continuously doing research and trainings in teaching techniques for all instruments and voice.
