Introduction: I have been performing and recording professionally for over 15 years, at almost every level of the music business, from playing major jazz, pop and world music festivals with famous artist, to small clubs with local heroes; I have the experience to guide you through your own journey in music. aside from my time as a performer and educator, I have worked as musical director, helping to prepare bands for their big tours and concerts; I have the first hand experience and know how to communicate that knowledge and wisdom to you. Not only have I cultivated years of experience on the bandstand, in the studio, and as an educator and coach, I have also studied extensively; I am a graduate from Berklee College of Music, and have gone on to many further studies with some of today’s most in demand drummers and percussionists (Joey Baron, Dan Wiess, Matt Moran, Ricardo Monzon). I continue to go in-depth studying many of the classic and cutting-edge percussion techniques and methods, to guide my students towards the best ways to achieve their personal musical goals. The lessons are about getting you playing the music you love at the level you dream about. A careful balance of technique, repertoire, and theory come together to help you get where you want to be. I have explored many of the avenues of the drumming world, and know many of the best routes to get you there, all while keeping it fun, interesting, and fulfilling. I take great joy in all aspects of music and percussion, including seeing my students achieve things that they previously thought out of their reach. Seeing music enrich the lives of my students and their communities; that's why I'm an educator as well as a performer.

I've been taking drum lessons with Dave for about a year now. I gave him five stars because he's just an all around great teacher. He's always going the extra mile to make sure I fully understand each lesson, and that I know exactly what I need to do for homework. He's also very patient. When I first started I was super anxious to make mistakes which made it more difficult for me to grasp any understanding of how to play. He never makes me feel like I'm dumb or that I can't keep up. He is always challenging me to be better and that's what's made me better as a drummer and musician in general. Overall, I recommend Dave because he is a great person to learn from. Each lesson is enjoyable and fun which creates the perfect learning environment.

David Moore, who teaches percussion ensemble at Marblehead Charter School has proven to provide exciting lessons and impressive student performances. Additionally, he has led school wide clinics where he engages the audience and displays his virtuosity. He is a talented individual who is serious, yet fun to work with while teaching, and performing. Adria Smith

David’s varied skills extend beyond his overall excellence in providing K-6 percussion instruction through our enrichment program for the Lawrence Public Schools. His commitment to making music available to all children has opened up a new world to many of them, while his engaging style fosters discipline, good listening skills and their own passion for the arts. ---Kerry Wiersma, Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence
