FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We can start with a quick phone/Skype consultation. Then I'll ask you to complete my New Client Questionnaire and present all the necessary documents. For nearly all tax preparation work, I've found it most efficient to teleconference so that we both have all our materials before us. This is especially true for anyone with a 1099-Miscs and/or Schedule Cs as we inevitably need one more receipt or form and can save a lot of hassle for the client. I also do some on-site business and tax-planning consulting for corporations and new sole proprietors, often visiting for a few days.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I combine experience from many varied aspects of tax preparation to give my clients a well-rounded perspective and a one-stop tax service. I've worked with a tax-relief law firm, as a FACTA consultant for Credit Suisse, as a derivatives trader, and am currently getting a Masters in Business Tax. So I can answer almost any question or quickly find the answer.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
It's important to seek out an IRS Enrolled Agent and someone you feel comfortable with, someone who doesn't rush you off the phone when you have important questions. I love interacting with my clients, helping them find new credits and missed deductions and then hearing what they did with the money they saved!
