Introduction: Most designers impose their individual style on their clients, I do not. I take the time to listen to my clients and use visual props to ensure I can clearly see their vision and incorporate it into their home. Many of my clients have a vision of what they would like to incorporate into their home, but have trouble translating those ideas into their lives. I love helping others turn their vision of their home into reality with a direct, purposeful plan. Having a toolbox of vendors and resources at my fingertips, I can help my clients fulfill their desires and live comfortable in their dream homes.

Carolyn came highly recommended! Over a span of several weeks, Carolyn oversaw and helped me with the color management and lighting design of a three room renovation. Carolyn achieved all of the design elements I had hoped for with her intuitive design sense. Her lighting choices successfully transformed our rooms into a seamless combination of function but more importantly, style! Carolyn's work improved the quality of our living environment; our rooms no longer felt cramped or too dim. In addition to Carolyn's design sense and purposeful application, I was most impressed with Carolyn's sense of time management. Carolyn has an outstanding eye for color and space. She helped us decorate a renovation that included a large great room and new kitchen. She got us window treatments, helped with area rugs, helped us pick colors and decorative accessories and with her help the space looks amazing. She worked quickly and was available when we needed her, She knew how to coordinate the colors and furniture and how to arrange the room to work with the layout we wanted. Highly recommend her. Super nice, professional and talented.

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$65-$75 per hour is my typical rate. I also offer a "50 for $50", which is a 50 minute in-home consultation with a quick-fix plan, discussed verbally during the home walk-through. If the client chooses to use me for more services beyond the 50 minutes, they can do so OR they can follow the plan on their own.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
An initial consultation is essential to ensure we are a good fit. Establishing ideas, styles, budgets and color schemes is necessary for a good working relationship with no surprises. From there, I use visual boards, texts and shopping trips to lead us to the end result-- a perfectly designed room which is my vision and my client's style.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Degree in Visual Arts from Holy Cross and Interior Design from Rhode Island School of Design. I continually attend ASID conferences, ALA Lighting conferences and workshops as well as local trade seminars.
