- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Tui Na is a hands-on body treatment that involves Traditional Chinese medicine theory and Chinese taoist and martial arts principles. It promotes the realignment of the musclo-skeletal body and restores the flow of qi through massaging and manipulating the muscles and tendons, and stimulating acupressure points that affect the flow of qi and blood through the channels. By restoring the flow of qi, the body is allowed to naturally heal and restore itself to balance. Tui Na is used to treat specific problems associated with the musculo-skeletal and nervous systems. Deep in nature and not used very often as a simple relaxing massage. The practitioner may brush, knead, roll/press, and rub the areas between each of the joints, known as the eight gates, to attempt to open the bodys defensive (wei) chi and get the qi and blood circulating in the meridians and the muscles. This promotes healing and pain relief. The practitioner can then use range of motion, traction, and massage, with the stimulation of acupressure points. The use of external herbal poultices, compresses, liniments and salves are also used to enhance the other therapeutic methods.
