I am honored to be awarded a Best of 2016 DJ by Thumbtack. This is the second year in a row in which my clients have helped me achieve this accomplishment. I believe my work stands out because I care about what I do and I am also a person who loves to dance. I rely on how I am feeling during the event and what type of music would get me moving on the dance floor. Getting onto the dance floor is very natural for me and I am always happy to assist people in regards to dancing at the event. I also specialize in Greek/American events and gladly show couples how to do the traditional circle dance at their wedding. I genuinely love the party atmosphere! I genuinely enjoy the enjoyment the people are having at the event. When people respond enthusiastically to a song I just want to increase the enthusiasm throughout the event. I also love to dance so when people are truly in the moment and forgetting their worries at that point in time I become very happy myself. The added bonus of this job are the relationships I have established over the years with my customers. From my perspective some customers have become like family members for me as I look forward to interacting with them each year.This is truly a wonderful part of the job!

Dan and I have been talking on and off about the party I was planning since last December 2016. He always answered my questions quickly when I contacted him and made me feel very positive about choosing him as the DJ. On the day of the party, he was early to set up and had his daughter with him as his assistant. He played all the music I requested and many people commented on the great song/music choices. That night, he shared that he was retiring from DJ-ing. I'm glad I caught up with him before he did so! Thank you Dan for helping make our party a success!

Dan was outstanding!!! We had our wedding last night and I can't speak highly enough of how great a job Dan and his assistant did. There were zero problems, he met all my needs, had all the music that I requested ready to go and kept the party going!!! My family and friends were very impressed with how fun the dance part of the evening was! Thanks so much Dan!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically like to have a sincere conversation with any customer regarding the type of service she/ he would like to have for her/his event. This is key to any successful event.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was trained by my incredible mentor Mr. Gary Gilmore of Just for the Record DJs!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was chaperoning a dance for my high school in 1998. The theme was a Sock Hop. Many of the students were unaware as to how to dance to music from the 1950s however, so I took the opportunity to teach them how to do the Jitterbug, the Stroll and the Twist. The DJ approached me at the end of the night and asked if I wanted to learn how to become a DJ since I was uninhibited to demonstrate a variety of dances to a group of teens. I worked for Just for the Record DJS for two years and was mentored by the best. Mr. Gary Gilmore,The Music Man! Gary retired and sold part of his business to me. This helped me launch Alpha Wave DJs in 2000!
