General Carpentry

I hired Squared Away to repair and renovate our old barn. To say I recommend this company is a severe understatement. If you are lucky enough to connect with Squared Away for your project -- these are the guys to hire!! ASAP! I could not be more satisfied with the finished product (copious before and after photos included here). I feel an obligation to inform others of why this company is such a gem. Work Quality First off, the work quality was impeccable. Barry and his team approached each task with a level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that showed they truly cared not only about getting the job done -- but getting it done correctly and being proud of the finished product. If anything, I felt Barry showed the level of concern for my barn that I have as the homeowner. I’m talking about attention down to the screws and nails. They went above and beyond in ensuring the structure is sound for many years to come. Advice and Education Barry and his team gave me a tremendous education while they were working. They consulted me through each step of the process. They advised me on why certain steps were necessary -- while also approaching the project with great efficiency and pragmatism. As a homeowner, I now know more about how to care for my barn and keep it in good condition. I am oftentimes a DIY-er, so the chance to learn from a true professional like Barry was invaluable. His depth of knowledge is tremendous. Even getting a quote from him is a valuable chance to engage with someone who knows what they are talking about and is willing to take the time to share his expertise. Professionalism and Ethics These qualities cannot be overstated. Barry and his team showed the utmost professionalism every day of this project. They did things like sweeping up the barn at the end of each day, ensuring my yard gate was closed at all times (to keep my dog in), and even giving said dog a friendly greeting each day. Barry instills an incredible level of trust and confidence in his work. It is well deserved as he showed not only absolute integrity throughout the project, but also a lot of generosity in going above and beyond with various tasks. Summary I can honestly say Squared Away has been the best construction company I have ever worked with. I could not be happier with the outcome of this project -- and frankly wish I had more work to give them, as I know it would get done properly and with superior results. I got very lucky in finding Squared Away. If you are lucky enough to engage with them for your project, you’ll see very quickly why they are a cut above.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Our estimates are articulately detailed with no transparency, leaving no room for doubt as to where resources are allotted to.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    1. Telephone conversation to introduce one another as well as assessing customer desires along with temporal expectations as to potential project dates. 2. If step 1 deems we’re a potentially proper fit, an in-person meet is completed. This allows the customer an opportunity to make in-person assessment of who we are based on how we present. It allows us, the contractors - to visual inspect where said project will occur thereby effectively allowing us to accurately estimate. 3. An estimate is presented within a week of the in-person meeting. If said customer has completed due diligence - and decided we are the best fit to contractually move forward, a contract is drafted and agreed on. 4. Once a contract is in place, permits are applied for, initial payments secured, materials ordered, and start dates set in place.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

-Marine Corps & Air Force Veteran - CSL (Unrestricted Construction Supervisor Licensed) -HIC (Home Improvement Contractor Licensed) -Bachelor’s Degree Biology and Physics -15 Years Construction Experience
