Introduction
Not only have I taught high school students and tutored, I have lived in Spain and Mexico and have friends in Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, and in the USA with whom I speak Spanish regularly. So my Spanish isn't just textbook-proper, it's also day-to-day real! That means we can use engaging examples, to illustrate the grammar, that include music, culture, sports, food, nature, humor, etc. whatever will keep your student's interest. I have translated for a music magazine, a comic magazine, a Mayan author (who told me his English translation actually sounded just like him), and as part of my own research and work with indigenous peoples, so my knowledge/vocabulary base is very diverse. Translating: I like writing and language crafting, so my translations really reflect the author's voice and meaning . That's a challenge I enjoy. Teaching: I love surprising students with funny or interesting examples with which to practice.
