Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: We specialize in: * Edible Landscaping * Native and wildlife plantings (ex. butterfly gardens) * Permaculture design * Edible Forest Gardens * Homestead design * Fruit Orchard design and installation * High-yielding, organic vegetable gardening * "Edible schoolyards" and children's gardens * Pruning * Perennials * Spring and fall garden cleanups We offer ecological garden and landscape consultation, design, installation and maintenance, strongly influenced by Permaculture, a design science rooted in the observation of nature. We garden organically, and use hand tools whenever possible. Our clients desire to connect with their landscapes and have a deeper understanding of the land they live on, whether it be edible landscaping to add a diversity of fruit, berries, nuts, roots, herbs, medicinal plants, mushrooms, or an aquaculture pond right outside your doorstep. Our designs are unconventional and creative, and are aimed to mimic natural systems, while providing beauty and delight, and blending in with the existing surroundings for a cohesive and natural aesthetic. We do not mow lawns.

Efan Hsieh is the best gardener I ever had. She had excellent ideas and has developed our property beautifully. She is diligent and disciplined and utterly reasonable. In short, she is outstanding

Efan performed maintenance work, mulching and helped plant a tree at my home. She was very conscientious about respecting my very idiosyncratic garden and did beautiful work.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

We are not your cut-and-dry landscaping service. Though we can maintain beautiful landscapes, we cater specifically to owners who want to have a relationship to their land, whether that be through growing food, medicinal plants, planting native plants to benefit wildlife and pollinators, building soil fertility, or spending time in outdoor spaces with children, as examples. The first step is to articulate your goals. Spend some time thinking about them: Do you want your yard or property to draw you outside more, or do you want something beautiful to look at and not worry about maintaining? Do you want to grow more food? What specific plants would you like to see in your garden? What are the issues that you would like to have addressed? A consultation with us to walk your land is the first step to answering these questions, as well as identifying questions or other possibilities you may not have considered. Consultations are a at flat rate, and include: -Assessment of area(s) in question -Identification of design/planting/ cultural problems and suggestions for improvements -Advice on soil management and environmentally sound gardening practices -Advice on care and maintenance of existing plant materials. You are invited to take notes during the consultation as a typed summary will not be provided.
