Introduction: My goal when working with students is to create successful math students and thinkers. To achieve this, I employ various skills and strategies to empower my students with critical thinking and problem solving skills so that their confidence and competence extends beyond our tutoring sessions. Watching a student work through a challenging problem while asking themselves the right kind of questions at the right times is really rewarding. The scaffolded process I use to get there is very much an "I do, we do, you do". I love watching the "you do" come to life!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first session is like an orientation for the student to get to know me and my process and for me to get to know the student and their current process.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my bachelor's in interdisciplinary education and my master's in Mathematics in Education. My teaching licenses allow me to teach grades 1-9 math. I've developed curriculum that aligns with the common core standards, bringing my specialty of critical thinking in the development of mathematical problem solving.
