I have worked with four different voice coaches in the past and by far Alison is my favorite. She supplies students with workbooks and material so they are able to learn and understand the basics of music theory as well as vocal warmups. She balances her professional opinion of what the student should be working on while also taking into consideration what the student would like to be doing. Her knowledge and background with voice and music is more than reputable and her ability to work with all different ages and skill levels is admirable. My voice changed and progressed considerably working with Alison, she knew just how far to push me and it has truly been nothing short of great working with her.

Alison is a wonderful teacher, I have had several voice coaches in the past but she has been the best. I felt that the goals we set were accomplished far beyond what I had anticipated and all aspects of my voice improved exponentially while taking lessons from her. She knows how to push students to their full potential while making sure the experience is a positive one.

Alison is a fantastic voice teacher. Her positive attitude and passion for music created a great environment for learning and growth as a performer. She not only helped me grow and gain confidence as a singer but as an individual as well.

Alison is an amazing teacher. As her voice student for the past two years, I have learned a tremendous amount. I'm speaking not only of breathing techniques and configuration of the mouth and throat for optimal voice projection, but she has very sophisticated takes on interpretation of the music I've been singing. My repertoire tends towards the classical, but I have heard her teaching Broadway, jazz, and American Songbook as well. She is incredibly versatile: she's wonderful with children just starting out; she's equally good at coaching older beginners (I am 70); she has a student who is a cantor with much experience and a lovely voice; she is currently teaching a man who sings accompanying himself on the guitar. She herself has a lovely voice and is an accomplished concert performer: I was proud to have her sing at my wedding recently, where she garnered rave reviews from the guests. In addition, she is sympathetic, witty, and a delight to be with: my 45 minutes are a time to enjoy. The fun never gets in the way of the music, however, and she doesn't tolerate poor preparation. She is in every way a professional, and I recommend her unstintingly.
