Ernie Black @ Standing Stone Design has been working directly with TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik for the past 10 years. He has been instrumental in leading the development of the companies online presence, as well as our e-commerce program. Great communicator and fantastic timeliness. 5 Star Rating!

Ernest is my 'go-to' code guy! While I build simple websites via html and WordPress there have been times I have needed help. Ernie always comes through quickly and efficiently handling complex code projects for me. I highly recommend him!

Being a small business owner going on to the internet can be a crazy time for your business. It's scary sometimes to think of all the things that need to be done to accomplish it. Mr. Black explained to me step by step how to bring my business to the internet. He built my website in no time. We spent time tweaking and tailoring it to fit my business. Explained that certain spots were great revenue spots to place ads for my own products, went through keywords and phrases to generate traffic and guided me through signing up for Social Media. After my experience with Mr. Black and Standing Stone Designs I feel more at ease that I have the knowledge to not only run my business website online, but I understand better how it works. It's like my online business card running online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I was so please to find and work with him.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I'm constantly learning new applications and techniques. It is said that 40% of a web architect's time is spent learning new skills.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was teaching college English and Humanities as an adjunct faculty member of a small college, and while I loved teaching, I was frustrated by the limited income. So in my spare time I studied HTML and started creating websites, first for myself and then for others.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Standing Stone Designs specializes in original website design and robust site development, including designing, building and maintaining sites for small businesses such as medical and law offices, WordPress blog hosting, and custom backend CMS options such as press release management, dynamic photo and video galleries, and events management.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
The ongoing builds of the website. Telefunken manufactures some of the highest quality microphones ever invented, and I have a great relationship with them. I am continually enhancing their site with new product pages, artists pages, and more. The design is clean and engaging.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask a lot of questions! Think about what you really want, not just buzzwords. Look at sites that you find appealing and think about why. Think about your audience: who do you want to reach? how can you reach them? Should you consider active Social Media as part of your program?
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
That I am a hard-working, skilled professional, but I enjoy relaxing and having a good time with activities like kayaking, hiking, and bicycling...after hours, of course.
