Introduction: You will get conservatory level of teaching an a private, not intimidating setting. I follow the rhythm of learning of each student, but also know how to be demanding and nurturing at the same time. My students do very well in auditions and competitions. When they are ready to move up to well recognized teachers, I help them do that. I like the one in one relationship with a student. They are all so different and yet all so similar. Teaching them work ethic, patients, attention to detail, are the most beneficial items on the play list of a young student. Certainly, teaching these through music is the most fun and rewarding. I like seeing my students succeed and becoming leaders on their school orchestras, district orchestras and in their community. Succeeding in music have helped many of them gain healthy self confidence in their academic and social life. Their success is a cause of great pride for them, their parents and me.

My daughter has been taking violin lessons from Etleva for five months. We have seen great improvement in the quality of her playing due to Etleva’s dedication to teaching proper technique. She challenges her students to do their best and pushes them to excel while maintaining a healthy emotional environment. She cares for her students and fosters a mentorship that helps prepare them for musical milestones. She sets realistic expectations and celebrates with her students when they accomplish their goals. In addition to being a fine teacher Etleva is a wonderful person. She takes pride in her own work and is committed to developing her students to their full potential, often willing to go the extra mile to meet the needs of her students. We have enjoyed working with Etleva thus far and are looking forward to continued study with Etleva. Both my daughter and I would highly recommend Etleva as a violin teacher.

My son, Zachary, has studied with Etleva for over six years. Zachary has progressed over the years into a fine violinist due to both his commitment and that of Etleva's. Zach will go off to college this fall, pursuing the study of violin and music education -- following in the footsteps of this fine teacher. (By the way -- Zach auditioned at three schools --Hartt, Berklee and UMass Amherst-- and was accepted by each.) I would strongly recommend Etleva as a teacher. Additionally, Etleva is the director of the Repretory Orchestra of the MetroWest Youth Symphony Orchestra -- another fabulous testament to her teaching/coaching/mentoring abilities.

My child has been with Etleva for 10 years. Etleva has taught her to play violin beautifully, to work hard, and to persevere through the tough times. I have also appreciated her flexibility with our sometimes unpredictable schedule.

My 14 year old son has been taking lessons from Etleva for 2 years and he continues to improve steadily. Her teaching techniques are excellent. She expects a lot from her students and she gets results. Both he and I would highly recommend her! She is a dedicated teacher, an accomplished professional and is passionate about her work. She is also wonderfully flexible to work with and has a bright and spacious studio. We are very happy to have found her!

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask for credentials and resume, sign for 3-4 lessons. it takes a few lessons for both the teacher and the child to figure out the compatibility. As a teacher I try to learn what is the best way to teach and approach a child's need. They are all very different and they all learn in slightly different ways. Depending on your goals, do not choose a teacher just because it is easy to drive or little to drive to, choose a teacher that mostly offers exactly what you are looking for. It is just for fun? Or is it a more serious your/your child's goal? Be very clear from the start, so the teacher also knows how to plan your lessons.
