Working with Jim at Jim Barbere Photography was absolutely the right choice. I contacted him to help capture my 'suprise' proposal and it went flawlessly. Jim was available anytime I needed him leading up to the day which helped to calm any nerves I had. On the day of the proposal, he arrived early and actually found his way over to where my girlfriend and I were eating brunch on Newbury St. This allowed him to follow us and take some wonderful in the moment shots on our casual stroll to Charles River Park. Once there he did an excellent job capturing when I dropped down on one knee with a perfect backdrop. All the while, my girlfriend had absolutely no idea. Afterwards he was in no hurry to call it a day as he took pictures of us all throughout Boston for a couple hours so we would have all the memories needed on the special day.
Quality of service, friendliness and professional standards of photography were all off the charts. I highly recommend Jim Barbere Photography for anyone considering he or other photographers as he knocked it out of the park on a very special day for my fiancé and myself.
Thanks again Jim! The day and the photos all turned out to be perfect.

Stop the search, you have found your photographer! Jim is skilled, focused, and creative. He has a manner that immediately puts one at ease, as I'd you have known him forever. He was able to capture beautiful and poignant images of my family with nothing but a camera- no props, no decorations, and in very little space. We had a very impromptu photo session in which we packed up kids and puppies and went to my daughter' college apartment to take photos. Without backgrounds or props, Jim was able to capture the magic of my family, our personalities, and our love of each have other. We had family pajama pics done, and Jim even showed up in his own pjs!!! I highly recommend Jim Barbere Photography. Look no further.

Jim was awesome! He is very friendly and has a very positive attitude. I had a trip planned to Boston with my girlfriend for a long weekend on October 2016. I wanted to propose to my girlfriend during this trip and thought it would be a neat idea to capture the moments before and during the proposal secretly without her knowing. We also ended up doing a mini engagement shoot after. I am so glad I found Jim as he not only did an amazing job with the pictures but he was huge help for me in making the proposal happen as planned. Jim really takes the time to get to know his clients' wants and needs in order to put together a plan geared specific to a client. I didn't really know anyone in the Boston area so I relied on Jim to make a few things happen for me in preparation for the proposal day. Not every photographer is willing to do that! This was such a special day that my fiance and I will cherish forever and Jim was a big part of it!
Jim is also extremely professional with his work and knows his stuff when it comes to photography. I HIGHLY recommend Jim to anyone looking for any sort of photography services!

I had just had our baby girl when I reached out to Jim to have him do her newborn photos, as well as update our family photos to include our newest addition. It was December and as busy as everyone was with the holidays, Jim responded quickly to my inquiry and up until our session with the utmost attention. His assessment of what I saw as my vision was thorough and on point in his delivery. He arrived on time, and most importantly did not rush the session. I have three year old twins (and a dog) and he was extremely patient with them, and worked with their attention spans well. My husband and I are impressed and cannot say enough about the quality of the photos. I also love the idea of paying for the digital images and being able to do what I want with them, and he didn't pressure us to buy frames and print packages like the chain photography stores we have been to in the past. Jim is a true artist and a pleasure to work with! We have found our family photographer for here on out, and are already planning to have him photograph the Christening.

I originally hired Jim based off the blurb on his personality and passion for photography. Working with him was more fun and relaxing than I could have hoped for. My fiance and I are typically photo shy, but with Jim all those nerves disappeared. Jim focused on making us feel and look natural. His sense of humor and photography skills left us smiling till the end. If you are looking for a photographer, for any occasion, that will make you feel comfortable, experimental, beautiful, all while having fun, Jim is your man! Every job is different and I offer custom pricing depending on the job - please contact me to find out more.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I find out what is important to them and what their expectations are. Often I will ask if they have any examples of work that they admire. I also find it very important to make a connection with them to figure out the best way to extract their desired results. Mostly I try to keep it light, professional, and fun!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been a second shooter for an award winning photographer out of Boston and Chicago for years. I have taken many classes and workshops from THEIA Studios.
