Introduction: I've worked with clients ranging from large corporations to local musicians and everything in between. This wide range of experiences helps me to create unique, inspiring, and contemporary work in various media. I'm always looking to experiment and learn with new projects. More than anything I love creating and making. Whether it be formal portraiture, logos and branding systems, or promotional videos I enjoy making a polished piece of work from scratch. I'm continually inspired by the hurdles that come from each project and the feeling of accomplishment when delivering a final product to a happy client.

The COM Design Center Student Designer's main roles are to consult with clients, manage project timelines, and to see design projects through from conception to production. Matt was a great asset to the team; he brought clean graphic design skills as well as a wide knowledge of photography to the table, which enabled us to expand our photo library and web use of photos. Matt understands the print production process very well, which enabled him to directly consult with vendors to prepare deliveries of a variety of design materials. This was valuable to me, because it enabled me to focus more time to the larger scale projects that need attention, without worrying about any miscommunication between this office and the vendor. One thing that can be, and was improved upon, is the initial communication with a client. Working with faculty and staff at a university is challenging, especially when dealing with a tough client. The initial communication helps to nail down the clients expectations and design wishes without having to design too many versions of the design upfront. He has grown exponentially in this area during the 9 months that he was the Student Designer, and can now more appropriately connect the first design variation with the client’s wishes.

We hired Matt to take photos of our family. Matt was a pleasure to work with for this project. Day of: Matt showed up on time and was well prepared. He was great directing us into different poses that looked natural. He was great with the kids and blended well with the rest of the family. He was able to corral everyone and get some great shots. After: The photos were fantastic. He captured our true essence and everyone looked great. With my family, everyone has an opinion, and thankfully, everyone loved his photos.

Matthew is a creative, professional, hardworking young talent! I hired him to run a "DIY" photo booth at my wedding. In this case, his job was to take live photos of silly, tipsy, guests wearing props in front of a backdrop. This is not Matthew's normal role as a photographer, but the results were amazing. Instead of a tiny strip of photos, we got professionally edited, full sized prints. He surprised us with a copy in an album and a copy to mail our guests with our thank yous. Everyone loved them! I have seen Matthew's other work, and would hire him again in an instant!

Matt did a series of headshot portraits as a supplement to my resume/summer job search. After reviewing the portraits I have to say I'm extremely pleased with the results. He was attentive, receptive to my own thoughts, and incredibly professional. He's a great photographer with a true passion for the art. My portraits came out far better than even my own expectations, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again for events or other portraits I might need. Keep this guy in mind, you would be disappointed!

I absolutely loved working with Matt. Not only was his work amazing but he himself is an amazing person to work with. Finding the right photographer you can rely on to capture the essence and beauty can be stressful however Matt was the perfect pick. While working with Matt he was super funny, quirky and yet still very professional. His creativity really shined through when he was in his element. He remained very fun and engaging throughout the entire shoot.

The first step in every project, no matter the medium, is to learn as much as possible about the client and their goals for the project. With a clear goal in mind, anything is possible.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
BFA in Graphic Design, Boston University College of Fine Arts
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began my work in photo, video, and design in 2011 when I founded a small clothing line with my brother. Visuals were a must to ensure the success of our brand and to keep our tight budget I was forced to learn each of these skills. It wasn't long before I fell in love with the process of making.
