What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly learning new techniques and keeping up with today's changing internet technologies.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
I charge hourly and base quotes off of the information given and years of experience. If I give a quote I do my best to stay within the range of the quote. If the case were to arise that it looked like a project was going to take longer than expected I would inform the customer as soon as the issue came up and discuss with the customer why there would be an overage and if there were options to not go over the quote or adjust the quote as needed.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I hated being an electrician and was doing websites for fun for bands and family members and decided it was what i wanted to do for a living. I went to school and received an associates degree in internet communication and bachelors degree in business management then started my own business.
What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common type of project I do are for small and medium sized businesses looking for good quality at affordable prices. Typical websites run from around $400 - 800. I offer custom WordPress sites starting at $500 with a custom design and a package of security and optimization plugins that will get a business up and running. Hosting services start at $10 a month and graphic design is $50 per hour.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently completed a project for the North Ports Senior Center. What is great about this project is that now, they have a website that members and potential members can go and see what is going on and become more involved in the center. I also helped redesign the logo, set up and set up their Facebook page for them.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure they have examples of their work. If you see their work and like it then they will probably be the designer you need, if you are looking for a result that is drastically different than they show or they have no portfolio then it might be a good idea to talk to a different designer.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Not all website designers are out to take your money and leave you int he dust. Some of us are full time business professionals who care about our reputations.
