Introduction: Like most classically trained singers, I offer voice lessons. In my studio you will explore the full range of your speaking and singing voice. I work with all ages and skill levels, and find great joy in sharing what I have learned over almost a decade of studying the voice. I love to teach all different styles, though any style starts from a basis of healthy knowledge of the vocal mechanism, and comprehensive breath training. I keep things light hearted and fun, and it is always my goal that you walk out of your lesson with a smile on your face.
I truly believe that singing helps us communicate. Knowing how to use your full voice will help you gain confidence and increase your ability to be heard. Whether you want to pursue music professionally, or just want to get better at the karaoke bar, together we will discover YOUR best joyful noise.
Rates and availability:
Currently I teach out of the Wholetone Music Academy on Highland avenue in Somerville, MA. I have availability there on weekdays in the afternoon, and on Sundays after 2:30. Rates are $70.00 for an hour, $60.00 for 45 minutes, and $50.00 for a half hour. I offer trial lessons for half the regular rate, so come on in and let's get singing!

Garry is a wonderful teacher! I sought him out really only hoping to improve my karaoke game, at encouragement from some friends. With Garry, I got way more than that. We work on breathing a lot, which is amazing work for me, it allows me to focus my mind and settle into a space for an hour where I can be totally in tune with my inner self, and I've been able to gain more sound, and better confidence in my singing. Garry is consistent and professional, he follows up with me after lessons to ensure I am grasping all of the work we've done, and he is a lot of fun to work with. Lessons are relaxed and interesting, and his knowledge of the human vocal mechanism is downright impressive. If you are on the fence, you should hire this guy, you won't regret it.

My 15-year-old son began weekly lessons with Garry over the summer. My son is an actor and had no experience as a vocalist - Garry met him where he was in a way that's been really validating and effective. Garry's matter-of-fact, encouraging and targeted instruction has quickly yielded progress for my son (who, by the way, is totally psyched to go to each lesson...even when he's tired!). Overall, I'm just amazed at the early results of good teaching. A final note: Garry has been really flexible in working with us to find a time that works with a high school kid's busy schedule, and he is a great communicator, too. I feel incredibly lucky to have discovered Garry in my search for an instructor for my son.
