Tutoring - Orton-Gillingham

Introduction: Certified elementary special education teacher grades K-5 I am a special education teacher, certified in Orton-Gillingham by the Massachusetts General Hospital. I ran the Language Based Program in Weymouth for 19 years. I specialize in teaching a phonics based approach to Reading, Writing and Spelling. Individual tutoring is ideally suited to remediate the student's specific weaknesses. Phonics instruction helps the student with reading fluency and comprehension. Tutoring gives the student the confidence they need to be successful in school by boosting their self esteem and helping them to take risks necessary to learn. I try to foster an appreciation for reading by using reading material that matches each student's interests.
