FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I went to beauty school after getting laid off from my job. I wanted a new skills set and decided to go for it. While I excelled in styling and coloring, I discovered a love for makeup and realized I had a love for makeup application and enhancing each individual woman’s inner beauty.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with women of all ages from tween/teen to mature adults.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My first piece of advice is to be realistic with your expectations!! If you see an eye look you are in love with, it is not as simple as replicating the look. Any makeup artist can do that. The problem comes when you realize that not all eyes or faces are the same so not all expectations can be the same. Looks can be tailored to suit eyes and faces. My other piece of advice is to not expect to pay for basic and expect deluxe treatment. Makeup application does take a certain degree of work and precision. I can only speak for myself, but I enjoy what i do and take pride in my work...my esthetic may not be in line with every client but I am willing to work closely with each individual client to achieve their dream look for whatever the occasion. Communication is key. Ask questions. Have a list prepared to ensure you are not forgetting anything.
