Rob was excellent. He was originally contracted to create a custom wine rack for a space in my boyfriend's home and install it. the wine rack is gorgeous and sturdy and really quality work. I also later asked him if he would also hang some artwork, which he did with ease. He was prompt and courteous and even offered to do some projects he noticed that I hadn't pointed out (like fixing a broken chair leg).
I really appreciated Gil's responsiveness and thoroughness in helping us get several urgent electrical needs taken care of in our new home. We are in a mid-century building, with quite a few outlets that needed attention as well as a fuse box showing more than its age. Estimate was spot on and we look forward to having him do additional work on our home when we tackle different rooms.
Greg was awesome. He made recommendations for the height of the TV, and some other info about the wall mount. He worked through and found a solution to a stud issue in my home. Additionally he gave me some great advice on a home speaker system and some other home improvement projects. An interesting guy to talk to who is knowledgeable on a number of subjects. Clean work space, efficient and accurate.
Tree and shrub trimming. Prompt reply for estimate. Reasonable price. Work efficiently done as weather permitted. Little extras not originally specified attended to. The nature of this work requires some supervision by the home owner. Recommended.
Alex was super knowledgeable and responsive. He put in the overtime on a Friday night to get us setup as we moved into our new home and we planning a Super Bowl party at the same time. Great service!
EXCELLENT! This is the only way to describe everything about my experience with Tony and Omar of Renaissance Restoration. They corrected the errors of previous installers, took the time to do everything perfectly, and graciously fixed issues for which they weren't hired. Renaissance is the only company I've hired that possesses the same expectation of excellence and high standards as I...and I'm difficult to please. I am thrilled and will use them again, not just for TV mounting but for major home improvements. Don't waste your time with other companies - just call Tony.
Kushner Electric, Inc. service, professionalism, responsiveness, work quality and overall value has been second to none. Sol has been an invaluable resource in getting all of my electric necessities done and done right. We will use Kushner Electric, Inc. for all the remaining fixtures in our home and for years to come.
After meeting with four different general contractors, Mr. Marvin Guzman with Baiza Construction, Inc showed his best attitude to take part on a serious complete home improvement we had for our 1956 home. He didn't only provided a quick estimate, But time frame to complete and over all his price. My project was based on a full 2 bathrooms remodeling, plaster walls removal/replacement, insulation, plumbing, electrical, kitchen remodeling and about 2500 square foot of hardwood floor installation. My best recommendation to future hires and families of his great quality work. My contract worth 86k were put on the best hands.
Rodney was great! We needed two fans installed in our new home. He was prompt in his responses and his price was great! He confirmed the appointment earlier in the day to make sure we were still on schedule. He arrived and went straight to work. We are very satisfied with his work. I hope to work with Rodney again in the future!
The locksmith was fantastic! His replacement of my 50 year old YALE deadbolt on the security gate was a tedious job but his professionalism and knowledge was what made the installation look and perform perfect! Personal note: in this day of hard working service professionals that run up against jobs that are not normal and require extra time to complete; understand when these professionals are running behind. It is not their fault. Keystream kept me in the loop that a job previous had complications and was taking longer. I appreciate their hard work and honesty. Again, I cannot thank enough our technician, he arrived ready to do the installation both prepared and in a positive frame of mind even though I knew behind the scenes that he could have been frustrated. You very well might have a locksmith closer or cheaper....but neither of those two things count when you are concerned about a security/safety issue! Kudos to Keystream!
I cannot praise this lady enough. Professional, hard working, smart, and excellent with every type of repair. Samantha & Anthony came out on Sunday and stayed all day completing several very difficult repairs. I plan to hire this company for all of my home repairs in the future.
Months ago, I looked for someone to do a small painting project on Thumbtack. And I ended up with a brand new home. Christian, Jessica, Hector and the rest of the team at 5th Gen Group honestly do miracles. We own a 100+ year old row home in Washington DC and we've had problems ever since we moved in five years ago. After dealing with four different contractors that left me unsatisfied, I tried Thumbtack (at that time, new in the DC area). Christian came out to do an estimate and I was impressed by him from the get go - as a woman, I hate when contractors act like I'm stupid or uninformed. Christian never did that, and he answered all my questions respectfully and thoroughly and would defer to my wishes. We initially contracted for a gut remodel of our ancient kitchen and leaking bathroom. Christian's professional opinion was heavily appreciated as well as his vision - he instantly "got" the feel of a space and spent a lot of time listening to not only what we wanted, but how we would use the space and what we planned for the house in the future. Of course, the best laid plans always go awry - we knew our house had a few "handyman specials" but once Christian opened up the floor in the kitchen, we realized we were really in for it. Down there was a hidden mess of rotting wires, missing piping, garbage from the last renovations, and rotted-out beams. Overnight, our budget doubled. I personally wanted to die. But Christian calmly lead us through the process, helped us try to salvage our murdered budget, and focused on explaining the trade-off in home values. We ended up with an additional half bath downstairs (because really, what was another 5K at that point?), brand new kitchen (with a small bar!) a brand new stairwell and relocated laundry room, and a brand new bathroom with a shower (after 5 years of an ancient leaking cast iron tub). Christian isn't completely perfect - he's totally a perfectionist, and if you are one too, be prepared for some long conversations. There is an epic texting exchange over the bathroom tile that I may print out just to see how long it really was. But that's about the only thing. Also, for the other ladies on here- I always hate opening my home to someone because I have had bad experiences with contractors who were, at best, creepy. Christian and Hector were completely professional, and they really went the extra mile to make sure I always knew who would be in the house, when they would arrive, and how to reach both of them. Christian also has a lot of loyalty and integrity toward his clients - he is always fair, both in pricing and in the treatment of your home. He broke a small appliance - the only reason I knew was because he called me when he was purchasing an (upgraded) replacement on his own dime. All renovations are hard projects, long projects, and frequently frustrating. There was definitely a day when I wanted to kill Christian for sending me out to two different quarries in far out Virginia right around rush around. But when I stepped into my home for the first time, I couldn't stop smiling. And when we finally scrape together the budget for a third floor extension, I know exactly who I am calling.
Matt did an incredible job for my family and me in setting up lighting in our new home and quickly trouble-shooting issues we were having pertaining to outlets. He works very efficiently and at a great cost as well. Matt is now officially my Electrian and I highly endorse him to anyone in need of electrical services!
Pablo and team were very prescriptive as to what my basement needed in order to redo a previously installed home system. He was very responsive and helpful, and gave me some great ideas on how to enhance our viewing on a great price. Definitely would recommend.
I just want to preface that SWAT A/V Solutions is by far, hands down, one of the best companies I've ever hired to do a home project. Bill, the owner, is a mastermind that will give you best ideas of where things need to be place or installed and will make sure you have no questions in the end. He has an amazing crew of guys who are fast, precise and detailed with every facet of their job and make sure everything is pinpoint perfect and flawless. Not only do they have amazing work quality and great personalities, but they have the best deals on speakers as well since they are certified distributors for Bose, Bang and Olufsen, and Snap AV (Episode). I ended up buying Episode speakers/subwoofer from them and instantly LOVED them!!! I can't speak enough to the amazing quality of placement and price of the work they did. Here is the synopsis of work they did to my home: -Installed/wired a 7.1 channel surround sound system in the basement -Mounted TV in basement -Mounted TV and hid wires on the second level -Installed internet drops in the basement and in my office so that all devices are hard wired into router. All I can say is go with these guys, you won't regret it, and they know what they are doing.
Craig came to my home to install a kitchen fixture...he sent me photos of light fixtures from the local home improvement stores..and After discussing installation options.. He installed the fixture that I chose..He was thorough and cleaned up all residual debris at the conclusion of the job...he was professional and did a quality job...my only minor critique would be for him to have his own drop cloth. I love my new light fixture..unfortunately I didn't take a picture to add... Janice in Waldorf... Sept. 2016
Good day to whoever reads my review. I would like to let you know in advance that Im a very hard to please and to tell you the truth a difficult person in general (thats what my wife says!). It took me few months to do my research on different contractors in the area, collect few estimates and decide on which one to go with. I went with my gut feeling and e-mailed back to one of the salesman from Karma home designs. Ive been informed that its been few months since the estimate was provided and it has to be re-evaluated. I have a bad temper and didnt take the news good. I asked for the manager to talk to and got ahold of Kris who is a very patient gentleman and listened to everything I had to say. He was king enough to approve the previously estimated amount for my full house renovation. I was extremely satisfied with the outcome of our conversation. My wife was listening to me and shaking her head. We met with the assigned project manager to discuss the schedule of work and the possible time frame. He is a very professional gentleman with a good sense of humor. During the demolition process we had to move to my sister house but I was popping up at my property always unexpected in different times to check the process even though it was communicated to me daily. We faced few change orders that of course I wasnt happy with but I completely understand that its an old house and when you dig into it you might find lots of surprises like rotten wood, mold, electrical work that wasnt done by code, etc. Every little thing that we faced was explained and pointed so I was able to see it with my own eyes and would not think Im taking advantage off. Once job was competed we did a final work through and there was nothing to complain about. I was amazed how Karma associates teamed up with us and made our home exactly the way we wanted it to be. I will strongly recommend it to all my friends and family. Thank you Karma for all your hard work and patience with such a difficult person as I am. Best of luck!
We had our business location secured by ADT. Video Surveillance, Door Access, Intercom, and Pulse Burglary Alarm. The pricing was competitive but not the cheapest! We chose ADT because of their new operations and customer service commitments. It has been about a year now since ADT has put everything in and we have only had 2 incidents where we needed a service technician to come out. Both by the way were service calls created by our landlords building crews in other units, but nonetheless, ADT was there the same day we called for help. That is truly impressive, considering we had Comcast prior to moving into our new location, we decided to give ADT a shot. Hands down, ADT blows Comcast away in product, customer service and emergency dispatching too! I recommend ADT to all business and home owners. They know their stuff.
