Hi! My name is Rose, I love reading and helping students not only become better readers and writers, but also have an appreciation for it.
I’m happy to help students reach their learning goals by creating personalized lessons and/or incorporating materials they provide in their sessions. I’m passionate about creating an immersive online learning experience for my students to learn and think creatively for themselves. With the use of digital tools, customized lessons and story telling your student will excel in reading.
I’m currently a virtual reading interventionalist with Amplify, a high-impact tutoring literacy intervention program that uses a phonics-based curriculum. I instruct kindergarten through 6th grade students in small groups. I also monitor their progress throughout the year and administer assessments in order to tailor instruction to meet the needs of each individual student. I participate in the monthly professional development which includes collaborating with other instructors, enhancing the implementation of the curriculum and ways to create an engaging online environment for students.
I graduated cum laude from Frostburg State University. I’ve taken numerous general education, literacy, reading and writing courses. While in college, I volunteered abroad in Peru and taught Spanish speaking students ages 5-7 in a summer camp. In addition, I have experience teaching in a classroom setting.
I believe anyone can improve in reading and writing if you have the right materials and comprehension skills. As a tutor, I want to share my passion with others and help them with their studies/creativity.
