FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I would first explain to my customer that I'm not trying to get rich off their one little lighting installation project and that I only charge according to the amount of hrs and material costs to complete the job, on average I charge between 65 and 75 dollars per hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I would first establish the amount of work needed to be done and how soon I would be able to complete it, then we could move on to how much they budgeted for this particular project or if their not sure of the cost, then I would give them an estimated price so they can decide whether to wait or continue with writing up the potential contract.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started out in this particular trade by working as an apprentice on various job sites working under different master electricians, then I joined the IBEW Local 26 union where I worked and studied to complete my apprentice after 4yrs and then applying for the journeyman exam to become certified before I went out on my own to contract for jobs.
