Introduction: I TRY to make learning how to play the drums fun. And not so much a job. Also teach all my students to not just play, but play with passion. From within yourself. I have been playing drums for almost 50 years. I was in an all original band for 15 years that produced two internationally sold cd's and toured the States in support. After that band went on an extended hiatus I was offered a gig in a local classic rock and metal cover band. That I have been a part of now going on 3 and a half years. That band gigs out about twice a month. I have been teaching on an off and on basis many years. But much more steady for 3 years now. So I think my many years of playing, studio and teaching experience lead for a good learning experience for the student.
I have been playing drums for along time. And I really enjoy sharing my knowledge of drums and drumming with other people, young and old, through my teaching.

Tommy is a professional drummer that has been around for quite a while, and has tons of experience. He loves drumming, and I love to watch and listen to him going at it. He also loves to share and teach his talent and skills to others. His teaching style is very relaxed, and customized to the student's wishes. He stresses on the importance of practicing rudiments, stick handling, and playing with a metronome, but also on having fun and playing along with your favorite songs. Tom's fee is very reasonable and affordable for private lessons. He'll come to your place and helps you set up your kit and/or teach. I prefer to go to his studio where he has two drum sets. With Tom on one set and me at the other makes it a lot more fun and better learning experience,

Tom has been teaching my now 7 year old drums for about a year. He is very patient with beginners and points you in the right direction for what they need and don't necessarily have to have at that moment.

My son started with zero experience when Tom started teaching him. In no time at all he was rocking! Tom is so patient and kind and his methods are fun and motivating. I highly recommend Tom if you are serious about learning to play the drums!

We decided to get our son involved in something that doesn't require a gaming controller and he chose drums. We picked Tom out of the gate and I told my son that if he didn't mesh with him that we could find another instructor. After my son got over his initial shyness and intimidation, he warmed up to Tom and now looks forward to his lesson days. Tom ALWAYS is encouraging and supportive which has helped build my son's confidence and stoke his passion for something other than XBox. He has been flexible with us when needed. I would highly recommend Tom as an instructor.
