Introduction: I love teaching people how to sing, and a big part of learning to sing is your comfort level. Therefore, lessons are offered on a flexible basis: weekly, every-other-week, monthly, or just when you'd like a "tune up!" I will teach you how to use your body as an instrument in a healthy and freeing way so that you get the voice that is uniquely yours. I call my method the "Vocal Ladder," and I am always excited to share the joy of singing with kids, seasoned singers and adults who "always wanted to sing." I teach at my studio in Catonsville, MD, or online via Skype. I am a full-time musician, what I've wanted to be since I was 5 years old. Nothing better in the world than living your purpose!

I took guitar lessons with Sahffi for about a year and had an amazing time. I had tried several times to "figure out" this music thing and she finally provided the key I needed to crack the code and get started. She taught me some basics and some theory and she also encouraged me to try my own stuff as well, working with me to help figure out some basic composing skills as well. Her teaching style fit very well with my learning style, I always felt like she listened to what I was asking and what I was playing and helped improve me every time we met. My work schedule finally caught up with me but if I could I'd still be studying with her.

Sahffi is such an incredible teacher. She has a beautiful voice and an extensive knowledge of music and singing. On top of that, she knows how to effectively teach her students how to improve. Her passion and personality makes learning that much easier. I am soooo glad my daughter found Sahffi! I could not imagine her with any other vocal coach! Love her!

Very encouraging! I was nervous about taking voice lessons for the first time in a long time at my age (early 30s) but Sahffi is very patient, pleasant and personable (alliteration not intended, just speaking the truth).

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our first lesson will mainly focus on why you want to sing, your past experience, and introducing the concept of using your body as an instrument. I will give you breathing exercises and simple vocalizations to practice at home.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a performance degree from the Peabody Conservatory of Music.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've wanted to be a musician since I was 5 and my cousin let me play his drum set. It's always been in my blood!
