FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My dog walking fees are based on the distance from my home to yours. I do not travel more than 15 miles one way for a job. Dog training fees are based on the specific training needed and charged by the hour. A typical basic obedience course is $25/hour and we meet once a week for a training session. If you only need crate training help, please email me at rottn430 at gmail dot com or call me. I will email some information to you on how to do house/crate training. I do not charge for this service. You MUST establish a set schedule at your house in order to successfully house/crate train a dog. You will need a crate that is appropriate for the size of your dog. If you're unwilling to get a crate for this process, I am unable to help you.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The customer should call me on the phone and we can schedule a convenient time for me to come to their home and meet the dog(s) and people. I am usually available to start the very next day.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have owned dogs for over 30 years and have trained basic obedience skills to numerous dogs of my own and for others. After retiring, I obtained veterinary assistant certification. Unfortunately, most of the vets in my area are more interested in making money than keeping up with updated treatment and vaccination protocols. They know nothing about nutrition and push expensive "prescription" foods that offer no nutritional value. I am not comfortable pushing treatments and products that I believe are bad for pets. So I choose to avoid getting a job with local vet offices.
