FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    • The first two hours are half-price, to give the student time to get comfortable and so that I can get a sense of what their needs are. • Hourly rate is based on required prep time and driving distance, but you are only charged for the time spent with your student. • Academic support is the least expensive because it requires the least prep time on my part. • Standardized test prep, as well as Enrichment & Remediation outside the school year, are more costly, as they require more preparation on my part to create a personalized curriculum. • Advocacy costs a slightly higher hourly rate. • Consultations are prorated by 15-minute segments, but require my specialized expertise, so cost the most. • Workshops are charged a flat rate based on size and length of the workshop.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I mostly offer: • Academic Support, Remediation, and Enrichment • Standardized Test Prep (e.g.: SAT, ACT, ISEE, SSAT, Praxis, LSAT) • Consultations with Psychologists (re: IEP, intervention, and placement suggestions) • Advocacy for Special Education • Workshops for Parents & Teachers

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Give the intervention time. There is a curve for the student getting comfortable and the provider getting a sense of their personal learning style. Unless there is a definite personality clash, at least give it 3-5 hours (three sessions) to begin to see clear results.
