Introduction: Welcome to Bugsy’s Mobile Beats! We offer Music, Photo Booth, and Good Times! My name is David Bugg (DJ Bugsy) and there are two reasons why I entertain as a Disc Jockey: 1. I have a great passion for music of all kinds. 2. I enjoy seeing people having a great time! I bring over 19 years of experience (includes 4 years of djing college parties, 3 years of sports bar & club residencies, and 12 years of pool parties, birthday parties, festivals, sports events, corporate events, and many weddings) to every event, along with over 7 decades of music & dozens of genres. During my 19 year journey, I learned that a good DJ can just press play, and follow a playlist. However, a great DJ has the skill-set to not only know what to play, but more importantly, know what not to play, what is appropriate and what's not. A great DJ has to create an energetic atmosphere, have quality emceeing skills, and be able to connect with his/her audience (engage the crowd) in order to anticipate what they like (resulting in TOTALLY AWESOME PARTIES!!!). I demonstrate that every day as I keep up with new music for the younger generation, and still bring the party for our older friends. I'm open to any genre of music from around the world. I use state-of-the-art equipment with backup, and I make certain that our presentations are amazing (delivering the best quality in sound & lighting). My business stands out mostly by my client reviews, and feedback (all positive)! It’s a testament of the hard work, preparation, and dedication that I put in before every event. I’m always looking to improve my work (through seminars, webinars, expos, and the DJ brotherhood). My emceeing style is fun, yet professional. My mixes & transitions are smooth (because I don’t want to have people tripping over themselves due to some crappy mixes). I love that kids and adults all recognize me (even at the grocery store) and request my services on a more local-level based on past or recent performances (i.e. local pool parties, school events, sweet16s, weddings, graduation parties, sports events, or family & class reunions). Bugsy's Photo Booth made its debut on March 17, 2017, and its success has been phenomenal. I do music at weddings and parties almost every weekend, and my photo booth has been requested at nearly all of them so far, with bookings up to a year in advance. Photo Booth rate: $125/hour Here’s our standard & optional items: * unlimited visits * Backdrop for Open Air Style * (2) 2x6 photo strips or (1) 4x6 print (3 large pics) * Matching color theme * Extra lighting (if needed) * Tag Line (up to three lines) * Custom or Company logo applications * Signs (fitting to the occasion) * Fun props * Additional prints (on-the-fly) upon request * Touch-screen operation * High-speed photo printing * Complementary USB flash drive * Optional Scrapbook service (an additional $50) * Optional enclosure ($50 indoor)($25 outdoor) * An attendant to help You get a choice of backdrop color: — Black sequined, Champagne sequined, Gold sequined, Pink sequined, Turquoise sequined, Silver sequined, or Light Gold sequined Scrapbooking service ($50): a nicely decorated book (containing artwork, layers of textures, embellishments, and everyone’s wacky photo) along with their comments and well-wishes (a nice keepsake). Complimentary USB Flash Drive: contains all of the event photos to run slide shows or to post items to your favorite social media. Indoor Enclosure ($50): one-time fee The lighted, inflatable, indoor enclosure has become very popular, and creates a huge “wow” factor. The inflatable enclosure is (10x10x10) cubed, and does not require a backdrop. Outdoor Enclosure ($25): one-time fee For indoors or outdoors, we use a (10x10x15) canopy with panels to enclose three to four sides (requires 15 feet of height clearance, and additional lighting). Due to COVID-19, some of the props cannot be utilized (such as fabric items) but we always have a sanitizing station at our booth. We do offer hand sanitizer & sanitizing wipes when handling our plastic props (such as signs & inflatable items). The photo booth unit has a round mirrored face, changing colored vanity lights, can tilt up or down for those taller and shorter subjects, and sits on a sleek pedestal stand & base with a 3x3 footprint of space. The camera within is a Canon T5. The user-friendly, touch-screen shows (welcome screen, live view, 5 second countdown for each photo, on-screen session pics that fill in the photo strip after each camera shot, and a gallery slide-show in idle mode). The color-print format is 3 photos on a 2x6 strip, or 4x6 print that turn out super clear from our high-speed, dye-sublimation printer, and there's always a helpful staff member. Everyone (kids and adults) loves the fun experience that Bugsy's Photo Booth brings. So book today, and take part in all the fun! I really enjoy seeing people having a good time, and I can feed off of just that. Ever since college (where I first started djing parties for fun) I enjoyed seeing people doing the "Soul Train" line, or the Electric Slide, or Follow the Leader at the many parties I've hosted. We had a "No Wallflower" policy, so if you showed up to my college party, you had to dance. Today, I love the spontaneity of watching people fall into a Congo train line, or singing the lyrics out loud, and watching the elderly folks keeping up with the younger ones. I also love challenging events, and finding solutions to those challenges (whether it's adding special lighting, demonstrating a line dance, bringing sound to a remote area, or making a digital recording, in advance, of a Dad playing on a Pipe Organ "Here Comes The Bride" so that he could still walk his daughter down the aisle). I also love being able to handle diverse groups of people, and to speedily honor music requests. Most of all, I love the sense of euphoria I get when I’m connected with an audience, and I hear outbursts of cheers from one song to the next, along with all the wonderful comments, high-fives, fist-bumps, and standing ovations at the end of an event. It tells me that I must be doing a good job! 🎶 👏 👏👏🤝🤝🤜🤜😊😎 and makes me feel warm & good inside. My head could easily swell, but I have to stay grounded & humbled, because I believe that it’s not about the DJ, but it’s about going beyond the client’s expectations. DJ Bug was phenomenal during both the planning and service for my wedding day. He played all of the music that I selected while also filling in the gaps that kept the mood beautiful and the party going. Even my guests were able to give music selections including "Baby Shark" for the kids. I especially enjoyed that he would step away from the dj booth and dance with everyone at the reception. While planning he was very pleasant, responsive and very fair on pricing. With DJ bug you wont go wrong. I highly recommend his services for your next event

Bugsy was our DJ for our wedding early this January and he did an incredible job. He was ready to go when we showed up for our reception and he kept the party going the entire 5 hours of the event. He helped to ensure that we met all event timelines that were arranged with venue staff and that every song choice and arrangement was met with perfection. The photo booth was a complete hit and would recommend it to any future wedding events to make the experience more incredible for your guest. I would without a doubt hire Busy again for any event!!! Photo Booth Rental

We only used him for the photo booth but our DJ was late so we were super lucky that he brought some DJ equipment because he was awesome to fill in until our DJ arrived. Next time we will hire Bugsy Mobile Beats for the photo booth and DJ. The photo booth had lots of great props (we requested holiday props and he delivered) and the picture strips were customized just how we asked. Everyone kept returning to the photo booth all night for more pictures, and we loved that we got a disk with all the pictures so we could print them later. He was professional and not only on time, but early.

Bugsy was great! He created an awesome vibe for our wedding and worked with us really personally. We got so many compliments on the music and the dance floor didn't have a dull moment! Also, his photo booth service was a really special touch- they make you a scrapbook at the end of the night of all of the crazy pictures everyone takes. Couldn't recommend higher!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    Music prices start at $150/hour. The quoted price includes:  * a variety of music (I manage an extensive library of current hits, and over 25 genres of music) and continuous music coverage * sound solutions (multiple speaker system and managed volume levels) * lighting (2 intelligent lights, laser light, ambient lighting, and a gobo light if desired) * wireless mics (including a wireless lapel mic for the officiant) * emcee service                 * working with the client to build a playlist that everyone will enjoy. * You get 16 plus years of experience (includes knowledge of many eras, and genres of music, ability to read & engage different audiences, knowing how to apply the right mix of songs, knowing when to turn up the party and knowing when to ease up, and knowing what is appropriate content and what is inappropriate). Consultations are free! There is a discount when you combine music and photo booth ($100 off the regular photo booth price with a 3 hour minimum). You will receive 6 up light units Free upon booking (up light units beyond 6 are $20/unit) Photobooth Photobooth cost $125/hour, and includes unlimited visits, customizable 2x6 prints with tag line, backdrop, wacky signs, fun props, an attendant, a complimentary USB flash drive containing all of the event photos, and the optional scrapbook service (an additional $40). The completed scrapbook would include creative decorations, authentic comments & well-wishes from the guests, and, of course, their wacky 2x6 photos...a nice keepsake).   • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    The Process I typically would first chat on the phone to find out a potential client’s expectations and to answer their questions. In most cases, it’s great to meet (face-to-face) at a cafe, coffee shop or even at their chosen venue. Then if we are moving forward, I would set up an online invoice for deposit to lock-in the date. To lock-in the date for services requires a non-refundable $150.00 deposit (set up through Square online invoicing).  Then I will put together a Service Agreement (contract) that would specify what I am offering, and if accepted, we both would sign it via email.  Items that need to go into the Service Agreement are: 1.  Names {mine and the client(s)} 2.  Phone and email 3.  Date and times (start/finish) of event 4.  Name and address of the venue 5. Breakdown of offer and pricing package 6. Type of event 7. Payment options 8. Equipment and set up 9. Liability insurance 10. Signatures Later on I help clients customize a music playlist that they and their guests will love. Every playlist I create involves the client’s input, and is approved by the client. I also take the time to pay a visit to any venue that is new to me (to meet the staff, find out about past entertainment set ups, electrical logistics, room acoustics, service entrances, and time management for set up/break down). I work closely with event coordinators, and clients will also find that I'm pretty easy to work with. I thank the client, and specify that I am looking forward to working with them on bringing flawless entertainment.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I would like to say that the online training courses that I took (i.e. The Complete 21st Century Wedding DJ by Michael Hughes) was very helpful, but it’s really the combined experiences (getting advice from other DJ friends of mine; getting tips, demos, and questions answered by famous professional DJs like DJ Kool, Kid Capree, Biz Markee, and many others at the annual DJ Expo; and getting tips from many You Tube videos that really shaped me to be the caliber of DJ I am today. The formal education (such as the online courses) and as a member of the American Disc Jockey Association (ADJA) are very nice platforms to help build up your foundation, but those experiences are priceless, and has taught me that a DJ has to have flexibility and always evolving.
