After multiple cancelations, a demonstrated lack of urgency over many weeks, and a no show by the company's crew, we ultimately decided to cancel our agreement and work with someone else. In our initial meeting, we told the owner that we had a specific deadline that was a month away for the work to be completed and he said this would be no problem because it is such a small job (he tried several times to sell us on larger jobs that we could not afford). Admittedly, there were several rainy days that delayed work, but there were also several days that Dave guaranteed the work would be done until he canceled at the last minute. He finally guaranteed that the work would definitely be done one day before our initial deadline, but when that day came, he canceled again. The reason he provided was that his crew didn't show and didn't call him, which he reported is normal and happens 1-3 times per month. In phone calls and text correspondence he would frequently blame us for the delays (because we wanted to be home when the work was done), but we never canceled on him. We rearranged our schedules to stay home from work multiple times for this job done but each time he canceled. While initial interactions were positive, the follow through was unsatisfactory.Jun 10, 2018Verified
They did an absolutely great job at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend them and I already have to several friends.Aug 22, 2017Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?1. They carry a MHIC license required to do this type of work 2. Their license is in good standing with the license holder, and not expired. Cross reference their license with the DLLR to make sure they’re not just saying they have one. Plenty of people do that. My license # is 5117207 3. They are a fully insured company (most importantly general liability and workers comp. I also carry an umbrella policy for an additional 2 million. Copies of my insurance declarations are included below). 3. Ratings and reviews are in my opinion just as important as licenses. I carry a perfect 5 star rating on Thumbtack.com, Porch.com, and on google reviews if you google “Pro Lawn Care, LLC Maryland” I’m 2 or 3 from the top. 4. Price is one of the last things you should look at. The best price is what so many people only pay attention to these days, but that “best price” will usually come with an inexperienced or non licensed/non insured contractor. A good price is only as good as the things above to back it. Please keep in mind I went to college specifically for this type of work, which very few people in the state do. I take great pride in my work to make sure every project looks perfect for the customer. Thanks for your consideration,
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I usually arrange a meeting time convenient with the customer, meet with them to suggest many different options, let them choose what they like best and try to work out a plan that fits their specific needs and budget.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I went to college for Horticulture/Landscape Design & Construction. I currently hold MHIC license # 4781549. I am a knowledgeable Horticulturist, and a professional Landscape Designer. I regularly attend work shops for continuing education in my field, and have a thirst for any new knowledge having to do with landscaping. I know and utilize all the latest techniques taught in this field.
