The project was installation of 5 1/2" crown molding and caulking. I also painted the ceiling with Benjamin Moore ultra flat ceiling paint. I then painted the crown with a semi gloss super white(Benj.M.) The project turned out to be very nice and if you would like a reference number I can provide .

Over the course of 2 days, Ted and one assistant helped us with lots of projects around our house, including re-attachment of a tile in our bathroom, installation of a new bathroom fan, re-caulking/grouting in our shower, re-attachment of a mantle to the wall, insertion of foam insulation/caulking to repair our chimney, re-attachment of tiles on our front walkway, dishwasher repair, and more. Ted was very punctual, professional, and easy to talk to and work with. He seems to be very knowledgeable about home repairs and it was really helpful to have him around right when we moved into our new home. We asked for a lot of help and Ted delivered - he got everything done (between him and one other person). Overall, we're glad we hired Ted and plan to use him again in the future!

Ted led the team that remodeled my kitchen to include installing cabinets, painting, drywall repair, replacement of an outside door, and installing a tile floor. Also, they added a deck to my house. The work done really was excellent and I'm very satisfied with both projects. Ted always let me know what time the team would arrive at my house and they were prompt and courteous. He was upfront regarding costs and kept in constant communication with me. He's basically a jack-of-all trades and I highly recommend Ted.

Ted was very professional in all areas of the work he performed. His crew was courteous and always on time. He repaired my ceiling, painted my dinning room and bedroom. Ted installed a new kitchen sink, faucet and dishwasher. He covered everything with plastic and the floors with drop cloths. He pressure washed the exterior of my home and it made such a huge difference. His pricing(rate) was very reasonable and he communicated with me on every aspect of the project. He completed everything in the time he estimated. I would highly recommend his handyman service and I will definitely call Ted for all of my home improvement needs! Thanks Ted, I will be in touch soon!!!

I thought I would write just the facts and you can decide what to make of it. About 15 minutes prior to agreed upon start time, he called to cancel - reason was family emergency. We rescheduled. On the rescheduled date, he showed up 1.5 hours later than promised. He did communicate that he would be late, again about 15 minutes prior to the agreed upon time - reason was babysitter didn't show up. When he arrived it took an hour to set up for a crown molding job for a 17'x15' room - reason was he wasn't feeling too good. Side note - he estimates the jobs based on how many hours he believes it will take and multiples it by his hourly rate which in this case is about $52/hr. When we started talking about caulking the molding (which is the final step for any molding job), he told me the price he quoted was, unbeknownst to me, installation only. He said he would caulk the corners but the rest would cost another $52 since it would take an additional hour. He said that a good finishing carpenter needs very little caulk. In the end, he caulked everything at no additional cost. Could it have been because I ended up on a ladder assisting him until a helper arrived because "he's hung a lot of molding and doesn't need help" although I explained prior to the start of job that this molding was particularly heavy and he would need an assistant? Upon final inspection, one of the corners was cut incorrectly and it left a very large gap - reason was MDF (the material the trim was made from) is difficult to work with (of course it was interesting as to why the other corners were done correctly). Needless to say he filled that corner with much caulk. If he had fixed the error, it would have cost me $65 for another piece of trim. The corner was in an inconspicuous place so I decided to pay him and be done with it. Total time - 6 hours for 64 linear feet of molding. Another side note - I hung 260 linear feet of picture molding the next day in 8 hours.

In response to your review: I caulked all of your trim at no extra charge. There was one piece of molding left because I took the time to cut properly to save you material and money! The corner that your referring to I tried my best to get it tight but there was a large cabinet in my way. I am only human and had a personal issue that I could not over-come but all along I called you to let you know what was going and that I would be late. I did the best I could on a day that I was feeling sick to do you a favor and install your extra large crown molding that in no way picture molding compares to difficulty in installation with crown molding. I finally learned you cant please everyone but in this case if you were unhappy with the installation of the one corner I would have fixed it no questions asked with the left over piece of molding. All I can say is call me and I will fix the issue and to all other potential customers please look at my other 11 reviews and they will speak for themselves.
