- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I generally charge by the hour which varies by service. From time to time, I offer special packages and discounts. Clients should take advantage of sizable discounts by prepaying for a package of service certificates which can be used at any time within a year of purchase. Gift certificates for spa treatments are wonderful presents on occasions such as a birthday, graduation, promotion, retirement, Mother's Day, Father's Day, or any ol' day you feel like making someone feel special.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Each new client is required to fill out and sign an intake form and consent form. I review them with the client during the pre-service consultation. After determining the client has no contraindications for the requested service, I provide instructions to the client on the starting position on the massage table and draping protocols and then I leave the room so the client can undress and position themselves on the massage table. I return and perform the service. I leave the room again to allow the client to get dressed. I do a post-service consultation, take payment, and book another appointment. Then I escort the client out of my studio or pack up my equipment (for an outcall) and take my leave.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I read a lot and take CEs whenever I get the chance mostly in rehabilitative massage modalities and aromatherapy.
