At her core, Rachel is a technically excellent musician committed to vocal health, musical excellence, and beautiful performance. She encourages her students to work smart and to build everything they do on a solid foundation. Besides technique, Rachel stresses the importance of thorough background research to create characters and tell stories, creating performances that are equally impressive and enjoyable. I have had the pleasure of working with Rachel in one-on-one and group coachings. In each setting, she balances encouragement with critique and holds her students to high expectations. She consistently makes herself available for additional review, personal checks, and answering questions. Rachel is generous with her time and energy and cares deeply about her students. I highly recommend Rachel Sandler for anyone seeking to grow as a musician and a performer.

Rachel worked with me one on one to work on a difficult piece I was working on and to give me some exercises and techniques needed for when I went to the top of my register in the piece. As a soprano, Rachel was able to identify the stumbling blocks I was facing in this piece and approach them head on. She has an in depth knowledge and passion for vocal pedagogy and health. Her techniques and exercises are ones that I still use consistently, and I left my lesson with her feeling much more confident in my abilities (especially my ability to hit that high C above the staff in my piece... And to hold it and sing it in a healthy way!) Rachel is so encouraging and inspiring, and anyone who works with her is lucky to work with her.

Rachel is an incredible musician who dedicates her passion to the betterment of her students. She was my accompanist for my first year as a voice major, and although she was only required to play the piano for me, she did much more. She treated every rehearsal like a coaching session, and focused on giving me new techniques to experiment with to find just the right placement and sound. Her vast knowledge of music really comes through when she teaches, and will surely provide an informative, friendly, and fun musical environment. Highly, highly, highly recommend. :)

I was Rachel's student for her vocal pedagogy class and had a wonderful experience learning a classical technique from Rachel that I could apply to all different styles of singing. Rachel was also my accompanist this past year and went above and beyond to help me perform my songs to the best of my abilities!

Rachel is very knowledgable in the field of music. Her skillset as a performer carries over well into her abilities to help train vocalists and instrumentalists. She has the ability to adapt to a variety of learning styles and is hardworking. I recommend her to anyone interested in working with someone with a strong passion for the art and knowledge of material. She has the ability to transform someone into a musician.
